Plastic Magpie is a special breed of club, a club that blossom's with imagination and originality, striving toward a future where analogue and digital have a positive and harmonious relationship. We want to re-establish lost gems of photography, true icons of outstanding distinction and originality.

Plastic Magpie is a new project, run by me, Luke Twigger. I have a genuine love of all cameras and the images that they produce. I truely believe that analogue is the future; everyday we are faced with clinical, over-worked and sickly-perfect imagery, embrace mistakes and appreciate originality.

What's more interesting than brand new work? - Work In Progress of course. So I am sharing a minuscule glimpse into the studio. As suggested these are works in progress, so will probably (most definitely) end up in quite a different state, it's even possible that they'll never make it to the finishing line - a fate that's already been decided for the Owl at the end, he was axed a while ago for being too vulgar; with his other vile friends, which coincidentally are all birds, form quite a collection of mishaps and misfortunes, it's most recent recruit, the bird from 'House Gift' - just wasn't right!

A symbol of pure machismo, an iconic portrait of the oldest English breed of dog and an emblem for contemporary mass-culture. Tyson is the first piece in a whole new body of work that explores the beautiful vulgarity within the material nature of ceramic coupled with electronics, carpentry and steel, creating a whole new and contemporary language of Kitsch.
